Happy Haunting

Halloween decorating can be fun, but it can get pretty expensive too.  Here is a very simple Halloween craft idea that won’t break the bank.  We used an old metal cookie tray and gave it a makeover for this project.

I used an old metal cookie tray and spray painted it black.   Using a Bistro chalk marker, I wrote “Happy Haunting” . . . yeah, I know it’s not very straight . . .but I’m okay with that.

A plate stand or picture frame stand will work well to hold the plate upright.

We found a skeleton decoration at the Dollar Store to add a little more of a spooky element to the project.  I did not attach it to the plate it is just sitting on the plate stand.

Then I draped a small piece of cheesecloth over the top.    I felt like it needed something more, so I drew in a pair of eyes with the chalk marker.

This little project took all of 5 minutes to put together.  But what I love best about this project is – the words will easily clean off with a wet paper towel.   This tray will be able to be used again and again.

Thank Deb! Can't wait to see what you come up with! With my kids being older, I don't do much spooky decorating anymore, but it was fun to come up with something different this year.
