Jingle Bell Valentine

Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day?  After packing up Christmas, I tend to get a little lazy decorating for Valentine’s Day.   To get myself motivated to put up something, I sat down the over the weekend and created 3 quick and easy Valentine’s Day Decor crafts using supplies that I already have.

If you’re like me, I had more than a few Christmas projects that didn’t get finished.  Time just got away from me.   As I was packing up the Christmas items, I left out the unfinished Christmas projects thinking I would work on them throughout the year and get them finished. Yeah, that will be happening . . .maybe.

It just so happened that I had a jar full of shiny red jingle bells left over and decided they would be perfect for this project.   Why not?

I love the rose bud filled hearts that I’ve seen, but I don’t happen to have a supply of rose buds . . .but I do have these vibrant red jingle bells!

Sure, I could have run to the dollar store . . .but it’s cold outside!  No, really the truth is, I have no desire to buy more craft supplies.  I have boxes of craft supplies.   Using what I already have makes the frugal Mr. Hobby smile.   Happy Valentine’s Day Mr. Hobby, this one is for you 🙂

For this project you will need:

1 8×10 canvas
Red Jingle Bells
Glue gun
Scrap Paper
Scissors
pencil

I started by cutting out a heart template with a piece of scrap paper.

Before tracing the heart shape on the canvas, I laid the heart template on my work bench and covered it with the jingle bells.   This is kind of an important step because you want to make sure that your jingle bells cover the heart fully without spilling over.   I ended up trimming the heart template a little smaller because the bells didn’t cover the first one nicely.

With that done, I  traced the heart template lightly on the canvas with a pencil.

Using a hot glue gun, I put a drop of glue on the top on each bell and stuck it to the canvas. It took all of five minutes to cover the area needed.

I love the shine on these bells and the color is of course perfect for Valentine’s Day if you want vibrant red in your Valentine Decor.

If this is your style, we’d love if you pin it to share!  Thank you!

I hope you’ll come back and visit us on Thursday to see the final quick and easy Valentine’s Day project.

Thank you for the visit today!

Laurie, this is so adorable! I love how you used what you had, the little jingle bells are so cute. I love the shine and I love the fact that if you shake this it jingles. The frame and the mat set this off so perfectly, it's a gorgeous piece you can decorate with all year long. Happy Valentines Day!
