I would like to introduce and invite you to join me for a new series I’m putting together on the blog called All Thumbs in the Kitchen! I’m pretty excited and a little nervous to share this new series with you.
I have tackled and accomplished many things in my life, but there is one area/skill that I am sadly lacking. . .
I am pretty much a disaster in the kitchen. I have never mastered any competency in this area – at all. True fact. If you ask my family about my culinary skills . . . well, let’s just say it wouldn’t be very nice or flattering. My family tells me I burn everything (even my speciality, frozen pizza)!! Thank goodness for us, Mr. Hobby can cook.
For years, I’ve been pinning and saving recipes I’m pretty sure my family would love and its way past time for me to learn some new skills and try to cook some of these delicious dishes for my family.
In this series, my family will select a recipe or two that I’ve pinned and I will feature the recipe(s) on the blog. Then, I will attempt to cook the recipe(s) for my family.
Here is the tricky part – this is not really a judgment on the recipe, although, I will let you know if my family enjoyed it – rather it’s all about my family judging me on my ability to actually cook the recipe on my own and produce a dish that looks as good as the photo I pinned.
The intention is that this will be a lighthearted fun weekly Thursday Feature on the blog (unless something has comes up to prevent it that week, or God forbid, I have actually burned down the house!).
Hope you will join me next Thursday for the First challenge recipe! Note: All recipes are a challenge to me, so don’t even think I’m going to go gourmet here!
Hats off to all of you ladies and gents who cook a nightly meal for your family. I don’t know how you do it . . . but I’m willing to stick my thumb in and see what happens!
See you next week!
P.S. I owe a big Thank You to my family for being my thumb models and a very Special Thank You to my daughter for using her awesome photoshop skills for my Series Header! You guys are awesome and I love you all!
