Ah, nothing like the family road trip! For us this year, it was over 3200 miles and some amazing moments in the beautiful state of Colorado. Our trip took us off the beaten path and onto the less traveled roads where there was so much to see!
We frequently visit Colorado and camp on a secluded mountain top where Mr. Hobby hunts for Elk in the fall. It is a beautiful and peaceful spot that we have yet to share with anyone else during our stay. Mr. Hobby and I are always surprised when we find the mountain is empty of campers, but we are secretly happy that we have it all to ourselves.
We hike, climb, and lay on our backs at night to gaze at a bazillion stars. Sometimes when there is still snow on the mountain we’ll have a snowball fight! We find elk, deer and bear tracks and if we are lucky, we might see one near our campsite.
Mr. Hobby and I have camped in many areas of the United States, but so far, we both agree that Colorado is our favorite.
Too soon it was time to head for home. We stopped in several quaint little towns along the way so that I could visit a few of the shops. Copper was always happy to check out the town too.
After temperature highs in the 60’s and lows in the 40’s, it was unpleasant to come home to temperatures in the upper 90’s! Makes me miss the mountains already.
Hope you are taking some time to make some awesome memories with your family this summer!
